Do your prices include VAT and Insurance, are there any hidden costs?

Unlike other vehicle rental companies Brookhire Malvern are completely upfront and honest about our pricing. All of our prices include VAT and insurance, unless otherwise stated and you will not find yourself turning up on the day to pay any more.

Some rental companies advertise very low rental rates, only to apply additional charges when you collect the vehicle. At Brookhire we're 100% honest.

Are your vehicles suitable for “tip trips"?

If you're planning on renting one of our vehicles for the purpose of recycling unwanted goods at the tip you may need to get a permit in advance.

As of the 1st of October 2013 Worcestershire County Council have said that all commercials and trailers (including hire vehicles) will need to apply for a permit in advance of their visit. They advise that you allow 10 days for the permit to arrive so please allow plenty of time.

The form can be downloaded here.

What driving licence do I need to hire a vehicle?

This really depends on the vehicle you wish to hire. In general, to rent any of our vehicles drivers must be over 21 and have held a full valid driving licence for a minimum of 12 months.

Although for our minibus hire, drivers who are below 23 years of age must have held a full licence for 2 years.

To hire vehicles over 3.5 tonne you need to be over 25 and under 70 with a full driving licence showing category C1. If you passed your driving test before January 1997 you will normally, automatically have this category on your licence. If you passed your test after this date you will have had to take an additional test.

Business users will be restricted by operator's licence on vehicles over 3.5 tonne and will need to discuss this with us.

Overseas drivers need to produce a full driving licence which is valid in their own country, and where applicable an international driving permit.
